Secondment of German doctors to our Hospital
at Punakha
Great part of the success and recognition of our hospital in Punakha we owe to the secondment of very dedicated German doctors to the hospital: from 1998 to 2000 Dr. med. Martin Joos. From 2001 to 2005 Dr. med. Johannes Meixner.
These 2 secondments were financed to a larger extent by CIM, the Centre for International Migration and Development, Frankfurt, the other part by “Pro Bhutan”. Unfortunately, CIM could not continue to support this project, the limit being 5 years.

Following this period, “Pro Bhutan” was able, in co-operation with the NGO “Senior Experts Service”, Germany, to second Dr. Hans Winkler for 9 months and Dr. Werner Missalek for 6 months to our hospital in Punakha. Both did, with highest motivation, an excellent job..

again a long term doctor for two years to “our” hospital in Punakha:
